4th of July Centerpiece

You know you're a craft-a-holic when you're standing in line at a craft store and trying to figure out what you would make with the craft supplies in the cart of the person in front of you on line. That's where the idea for this 4th of July... project came from.

I used the Statue of Liberty bear from the Patriotic Collection at Treasure Box Designs. The center firecracker is a round paper mache container and the side firecrackers are created using two toilet paper rolls for each. I covered each with red, white, and blue paper. I then stuck some patriotic decorations into the tops of each firecracker. Finally, I finished the piece with some ribbon. It's perfect for a table or mantle. I LOVE how it turned out!!!

Bottle Caps

Headbands with large flowers seem to be the new fad right now. Every time I see one, I want to make one myself. So, I took advantage of the Memorial Day sales yesterday with my younger daughter, and purchased some supplies for creating some headbands. She was thrilled, because she got to pick out the ribbon, flowers, and even some flip-flops!

These projects were so simple to create and the best part, I used some bottle caps and the Bottle Cap Printable Images from Treasure Box Designs. These projects were such fun to create and my daughter cannot wait to wear them!

I cut the bottle cap image with a 1 inch circle punch and used my tape runner to attach it to the bottle cap. I then placed a glass cabochon on top of the image. To hold the cabochon in place, I squeezed some Glossy Accents around the edge of the cabochon and finally, sprinkled some seed beeds over the Glossy Accents.

Since so many people have asked, I've created 2 videos on how to use and detail faces using the Treasure Face Stamps from Treasure Box Designs. These are the first videos I've done, so I apologize for stumbling through my words in the beginning. I'm not used to talking and working at the same time. The technique and materials are all explained in my demonstration. I hope these videos help you with your face stamps as well as your detailing.

I have to say, although I love to paper piece, I hate putting away all of the leftover paper that piles up on my scrapbook table. Weeks will pass and the pile grows larger. Cleaning this pile up does have an upside though, I always find lots of extra paper piecings I haven't used on a project. This was the case with the cat from the Bobble Buddies file at Treasure Box Designs. I used the cat to create this one page layout called "The Cat's Meow".

Just Chillin

This layout is one of my favorites that I've done. The penguins in this file from Treasure Box Designs are just the CUTEST with their sunglasses! I do love the color scheme on this one as well, perfect for summer or beach photos.

It's amazing how our kids grow so quickly! One minute they're so little and the next, they're as tall as you! The Growing Like Weeds file, from Treasure Box Designs, is a great way to display this transition. I changed the title to, "Watch Me Grow" for this layout:

"Monkey Business"

I changed up the colors on this sock monkey, from the Stuffed 2 Perfection collection from Treasure Box Designs, to create this cute layout. I tried something a little different on the photo mats. Instead of using ribbon, I used some twine and buttons. It gave the layout a whole different look.

Sometimes I have an idea in my head as to what type/color paper I want to use on a layout. This one was a challenge for me. I never realized that I had such a limited supply of primary colored paper. I do like the end result of paper choice for this one, a little bit of this and a little bit of that! The file is called Kiddies & Crackers from Treasure Box Designs.

Let's face it, a girl can never have enough pairs of shoes! When I saw the saying, "If the shoe fits, buy them in every color!", I knew I had to make a layout using that title. I mixed and matched some Treasure box Designs files and here is the finished product:

I love to come up with different page themes, because it challenges me to mix and match files. I had been wanting to create a Build a Bear layout for such a long time, and I finally took the time to do it. I really like how this turned out, especially the little bear with all its details. The versatility of Treasure Box Designs patterns always allows me to mix and match to create such layouts.

The We're All Ears file from Treasure Box Designs is such a quick and CUTE file! A great pattern set to bring out the most in your Disney photos. I used this file to create this "Disney Memories" layout. The Mickey ears photo mats are also a part of this great file!

"Hot Stuff!"

Every time there's a new file by Treasure Box Designs, I can't wait to make something with it! This file, called You Make Me Warm All Over, has so many cute elements. From the ladder, to the fire hydrant, to the flames, and the sweet fireman and Dalmation! Just a great file! The colors on this one bring it all together perfectly. I titled it "Hot Stuff!"

Scrapping Time!

I didn't get too much creative time in this past week, but I did get lots of family time in over Spring Break. I created these piecings and border using the Cat and Friends file from Treasure Box Designs. I love the colors on these:

I decided to have a little fun with the Diaper Bag file. I eliminated the side pockets to create this funky purse. The "Diva" image is from the bottle cap printables at Treasure Box Designs and I used a flower punch to create the flower in back of the bottle cap.

I used some bling on the strap of the purse as well.

"Knock Out Cancer"

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is just weeks away. I participate in this event every year in memory of my mom, which we lost to breast cancer 4 years ago. I don't think we realize the strength and the courage a person has, until a terrible disease like this occurs. I encourage everyone to participate in the Race for the Cure, and I promise you, you will be INSPIRED by the AMAZING examples of courage and strength.

With that said, I've created this layout using the Knock Out Cancer file from Treasure Box Designs.

Diaper Bag Boxes

I'm happy to announce that this ADORABLE new file is available at Treasure Box Designs!!! These diaper bags are PERFECT for baby showers or even birth anouncements. This file even includes a sheet of 20 printable images. These images are not computer generated, they are my hand detailed paper piecings, which have been converted to printables.

Chocolate

Needless to say, I LOVE chocolate! So, creating this layout using patterns from Treasure Box Designs was a lot of fun. I got to use many shades of browns, as well as some chocolate themed patterned paper. If you stare at this layout long enough, you can almost smell the chocolate! I've titled this one, "I'd give up CHOCOLATE, but I'm NO QUITTER!"

"Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"

This layout was created using print and cut images from my CD, "Digital Paper Piecings by Babs - Volume 1". The bears were printed on white textured cardstock and then I hand cut each one out. They have all of the details of a paper piecings, except they are converted to printable JPEG format. Also included on this CD is the PNG format, for digital scrapbooking.
