Christmas will be here before you know it, so it's a good time to work on Christmas projects. I've been working on a few different types of tags to add to gifts.
I wanted to create a candy Kiss inspired tag for this project. I did a little Pinterest research and created a tag of my own and love how it turned out. The best part, it was pretty simple to create!
I started off choosing a cute design to go along with the tag. I chose a cute penguin pattern from KaDoodle Bug Designs and reduced it down in size. I then created a tag with a rounded top, in my SCAL program and sized it at approximately 8 inches long and 3 inches wide. I wanted the top of the tag to be rounded, so it would look like a snow globe.
Starting from the straight edge of the tag, create score lines at:
1-1/4 inch
2-1/2 inches
3-3/4 inches
5 inches
Starting from the straight edge, fold the first 3 score lines to create the triangular shape that your candy kisses will be attached inside. Do not adhere until your project is completed, this allows you to assemble the rest of your project more easily.
I then embossed the top rounded portion of the tag using a snowflake embossing folder and stamped my sentiment. Finally, position your penguin and adhere. At this point, you can embellish how you wish. I've added snowflakes and twine for a hanger. A bow then added at the base of the twine.
With a small amount of adhesive, position your 3 candy kisses and fold to create the triangular shape.
Adhere closed. Cut a 1-1/4 inch by 3 inch piece of patterned paper for your snow globe base (I've used a wood tone pattern) and stamp with a "To" and "From" stamp. Attach to the lower portion.
You're all done!
This is so darn cute! Thank you for sharing this. Can't wait to recreate this for my co-workers and my daughter's teachers.
