CANDY KISSES TAG

Christmas will be here before you know it, so it's a good time to work on Christmas projects. I've been working on a few different types of tags to add to gifts.

I wanted to create a candy Kiss inspired tag for this project. I did a little Pinterest research and created a tag of my own and love how it turned out. The best part, it was pretty simple to create!

I started off choosing a cute design to go along with the tag. I chose a cute penguin pattern from  KaDoodle Bug Designs and reduced it down in size. I then created a tag with a rounded top, in my SCAL program and sized it at approximately 8 inches long and 3 inches wide. I wanted the top of the tag to be rounded, so it would look like a snow globe.

Starting from the straight edge of the tag, create score lines at:
1-1/4 inch
2-1/2 inches
3-3/4 inches
5 inches

Starting from the straight edge, fold the first 3 score lines to create the triangular shape that your candy kisses will be attached inside. Do not adhere until your project is completed, this allows you to assemble the rest of your project more easily.

I then embossed the top rounded portion of the tag using a snowflake embossing folder and stamped my sentiment. Finally, position your penguin and adhere. At this point, you can embellish how you wish. I've added snowflakes and twine for a hanger. A bow then added at the base of the twine.

With a small amount of adhesive, position your 3 candy kisses and fold to create the triangular shape.

Adhere closed. Cut a 1-1/4 inch by 3 inch piece of patterned paper for your snow globe base (I've used a wood tone pattern) and stamp with a "To" and "From" stamp. Attach to the lower portion.

You're all done!

Scrapbook Layouts

It's been quite awhile since I've created scrapbook layouts, but the timing of these projects worked out for the best for me.

Many times, paper crafting gets me through difficult times and helps me sort out my thoughts. So, I'm greatful to have a hobby that lets me be creative and eases my mind. My sister passed away unexpectedly this past week, so its been a tough week for me...

Treat Cup Cards

I love the look of treat cup cards. What a wonderful idea to receive a treat built into a greeting card! A card that anyone would be thrilled to receive!

These two paper pieced cards were created using patterns from Treasure Box Designs.

Pinwheel Bear

This sweet little pinwheel bear pattern was the freebie file at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs. I've created both a card and a tag with it.  By changing the color of the bear, it gave each project a completely different look. The stamped sentiments are both from Craftin Desert Divas.

A Slice of Lemon Card

Sometimes, alright most of the time, I spend more time coordinating the paper on a card than I do creating the finished paper piecing. I hate to just settle though.

I spent much time trying to decide on the paper for this card, because I had my heart set on using a lemon pattern print paper. In the end though, I didn't use that paper because everything just ran together. I like when the piecing pops off of the card and the background is cheerful, but subtle.

I've used this stamped sentiment before, but it's one of my favorites! The pattern used is from Cuddly Cute Designs.

Celebrate with a Bang!

Loved this adorable freebie file from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs! It went perfectly with my stamped sentiment.
Patriotic paper is always hard to come by, so I was able to work with some leftover scrap pieces to create this card. The layered stars I created in SCAL and added some extra bling to go along with them.

Busy Busy Busy!

To say I've been busy lately would be an understatement. My daily life has been so hectic in every sense of the word. I'm grateful when I'm able to find a little time to relax and papercraft.
Gives me time to collect my thoughts and escape from my hectic days.

I've made quite a few cards over the past weeks and thought I'd share...

Happy Valentine's Day

I didn't get a chance to share this sweet Valentine's Day card I had created.

I'm always looking for new card styles to try and really liked this card base design called a side step card. The pattern for the base of the card is available at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. The sweet bear design is available at KaDoodle Bug Designs.
